Was it just me or was Nuit Blanche kind of foo foo? I enjoyed walking around but a lot of the art was just….lame. Seriously.
Nice idea though. Next year I’ll be on the West side where apparently bars are open till 4am.

So after the success in New York, we decided to try it again in Toronto. Surely, there are some people who like hugs here.
We chose Kensington Market. Someone I had randomly met on the bus back from New York (who was visiting her boyfriend she had met through eHarmony) had recommended it. Well, it turned out to be sunny weather, we got lots of people to volunteer and we got a great response!

Today was…satisfactory. Well, my fellow huggers were awesome - turns out they were all couchsurfers who turned up.
And there were a decent number of people who were open to the idea of hugging a stranger. But a lot of people were cold too - some lady called me a creep, a guy told me to get a job (that was kinda funny tho). But what I was most disappointed by was that one of the security people from Dignitas (an AIDS charity which was holding the Race for Dignity Challenge) told me I couldn’t be there. I was told that I couldn’t share hugs in a public space by someone working for a charity!!! I was too shocked to respond.I chose that spot especially because my friends were participating in the event. I thought people taking part would have embraced the idea. Guess not…I was just not feeling it today. It felt like work. Torontians are a tough crowd to hug.
